Who Is Lucid Dreaming For?

Anyone Can Lucid Dream

It’s not uncommon for people to experience lucid dreaming at some point in their lives. But for those of you reading here, you are probably looking to develop this skill in order to lucid dream whenever you want to.  And it’s possible but just like developing any skill in your life, you have to be willing to commit to the practice.

You need motivation and effort to begin having lucid dreams consistently.

If you want to experience lucid dreaming whenever you want, you have to be motivated to make it happen.  Basically, just like any other skill, you have to practice, practice, practice. Are you willing to commit to the practice of lucid dreaming? Are you willing to try new things in order to develop your dream cognition?

Are you willing to try again and again, even when you think it won’t work?  If you are, then you have the desire that is required to become a lucid dreamer and you will be rewarded with far more than you can imagine.

Motivation has to come from somewhere.  Consider sitting down and looking at why you want to lucid dream.  Are you interested in spiritual development?  Are you hoping to overcome phobias?  Did you have a lucid dream and want to be able to recall this experience at will?  There are as many reasons for wanting to lucid dream as there are people, but what’s important to understand is why you want to lucid dream.

You can find motivation, when you understand why you want something.

The second part of the lucid dreaming equation is effort. There are plenty of things that you can do to practice lucid dreaming. There are plenty of tips, tricks, and exercises that will strengthen your dreaming muscles. But you have to actually use them…

One of the first steps in lucid dreaming is setting up reality checks. Reality checks are when you check in with yourself throughout your waking life. This means asking yourself if you are awake, when it is clear that you are. This will help you to ask this question when you are sleeping.

Next you have to start working on your dream recall. There are plenty of ways to remember your dreams. One style might not work for you. If this is the case, don’t give up. Pick another dream recall process and try again. The better you get at remembering your dreams the easier moving into lucid dreaming will be for you. Following your dreams can also give you dream signs. Dream signs can help you to find patterns in your dreaming, which will give you clues to getting a lucid dream started.
